NewRiver delivers new Aldi store in Dewsbury

 

NewRiver is pleased to announce the opening of Aldi following the completion of the extension works to the former Next store at its retail park in Dewsbury, Yorkshire with the new store reporting strong trade in the opening weeks.

Aldi have leased 19,500 sq ft on a 20 year lease at an annual rent of £298,980 per annum and will provide affordable essential goods to the local community as well as creating 18 high quality jobs.

The Rishworth Retail Park is immediately adjacent to a successful Sainsbury’s store and the introduction of Aldi alongside other occupiers such as Iceland, Halfords and Pets at Home means the retail park is fully let.  

Charles Spooner, Director of Capital Markets at NewRiver, said: “We are delighted to welcome Aldi into our highly resilient retail park. Aldi are increasingly becoming one of NewRiver’s key occupiers which demonstrates that we have the right assets that are compatible with the growth aspirations of food and discount retailers for whom the physical store channel is of critical importance. In line with our ESG strategy we were delighted to also provide EV charging points at the retail park.”

Aldi’s Regional Property Director, Mark Stringer said: “We are delighted to have opened our new store at The Rishworth Retail Park in Dewsbury. Now more than ever, people are looking for better-value products to help their money go further and the store has already proved very popular with the community.

“Aldi continues to invest across the region, seeking to extend its offering to Dewsbury for some time, with further plans for an additional store in nearby Mirfield. The new Dewsbury store has created around 18 industry-leading jobs for local people and the team are looking forward to continuing to welcome people to the store. Our location at The Rishworth Retail Park also means that customers can visit other retailers at the same time as completing their food shopping with us.
